Updated today at 8:41 AM    LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Thanksgiving at Wayside Christian Mission is one of the longest standing traditions in Louisville each year.
Hundreds of volunteers are giving back and helping people in need.
WHAS11's Gene Kang was at the mission, click on the video player above for more.

Pattys Mom used to volunteer to cook and serve the needy there every tear. Entire famlies volunteer every year too.
Thanksgiving is one of the 3X a year you will see the homeless. The  the only time they are acknowledged is Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter. They are with us all year around. Today as we stuff ourselves be sure and thank God almighty for they bounty you have received, and pray for the less fortunate.  POWDERMAN.  ;D ;D

Every year at this time our Church,  besides the food, give heavy coats, blankets, gloves, hats, hand warmers and anything we can come up with to make them more comfortable.  plus, since the homeless hang out in downtown atlanta instead of the suburbs, some churches open up during cold weather, we send them money for their extra expenses.  we send to all denominations.
