Any of you fellers use pigeons as catfish bait?

Remember the terrifying majesty of killer whales beaching themselves for a seal pup snack? Swap out whales for catfish and seals for pigeons, and you have this ew-inducing footage. European catfish in the River Tarn in France temporarily strand themselves on land so they can acquire some tasty pigeon meat. Scientists studying them say the catfish that hunt pigeons eat fewer other fish. Unconfirmed reports quote the catfish as saying their preferred meal tastes like chicken.

We have some carp & catfish that give the resident ducks a run for the money, plus they eat about half the baby ducks each year.

My dad has always sworn that the best catfish bait is baby birds, preferably with out pin feathers. this only confirms that. We were to civilized to use his "favorite" bait by the time I was catfishing. but he still claims it is the best.

Pigeons are not real. They are actually spies for their alien overlords. They have been watching us for centuries. Think about it--- have you ever seen a baby pigeon? A half-grown pigeon? If you see a dead pigeon, does anything eat it? Every few months the mother ship lands, and uploads the information the pigeons have gathered. On December 20th, the ship will land once more, and load them all up so they can get out before the big bang. After the smoke clears, the pigeons get to come back and salvage what's left. They get paid in cockroaches. At least, that's what my friends in Seattle and Denver tell me...  8)
If you give up, THEY don't have to win.

Would be a toss up for me wheather to eat the catfish or the pigeon. I wish the mother ship would bring another load soon, enough for bait and cooking to. ear

Wow that was interesting.  Go catfish!  I don't really like pigeons.

We don't have Catfish, but I catch voles in a big mouse trap.  I take them out to the slough, hook them on a fish hook and throw them in.  Since they are dead I work them a little as I slowly reel them in and Pike will grab them.  Also little toy rubber duckys, paint them to look real, hang a couple of hooks from them and throw them in.  Pike will grab them as well.  Have seen Pike grab grown ducks, drown them and eat them.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.
