Anybody have experience/knowlege about VEPR rifles?

I met a guy at our range a few weeks ago who was shooting his new vepr rifle, cal 7.64x54r and was favorably impressed.  Thinking of getting one for myself so if anyone has knowlege about them I'd appreciate your sharing it here.

Kalashnikov (AK) style?  7.62x54 or 7.62x39??

They look pretty cool.  I'd like one some day.  Youtube has a few vids about them.

i have a 1997 russian molot brought in by robisen in 7.62x51 aka .308 and love it,magazines are hard to get but there are after markets for the 7.62x51. i don,t know about the 7.62x54r. eastbank.
