Rubber grips for a Rossi Mod.68
« on: November 07, 2012, 09:32:51 AM »
I recently acquired a little Rossi 68 .38 special. I want to put rubber grips on it. Will the grips for a small frame Taurus fit it?

The grips on my 38 special are rubber molded with finger grips the screws are in the side of the grip where the ones on my Taurus the screw is on the bottom of the grip but you may be able to modify to put the screw thru the side. I know this may not help much but its a start .Give me a couple of days and I will remove and try and switch them around to get a better idea of the fit. Kurt

Ran into the same situation myself with a recently aquired Rossi68-but, had a Tyler T-Grip on a SW mod36 in the safe, thought I'd give it a try-Fit perfectly, problem solved! Replacement grips for the 36 are common as dirt, not so with the Rossi.

You can probly make them work but I don't think the effert is worth it there should be a better alternative. Have you contacted Rossi customer service? Kurt

pachmayr makes a compac grip for the rossi 68.  I think it's the ROS-C.

The Pachmayr ROS/C will fit - I have them on my 88 (stainless version of the 68).

http://www.pachmayr.com/home/revolver-grip-details.php

Select ROSSI from the drop down and it will list the small frame (.22 .32 & .38)

They are skinnier (less fat) than the rubber grips which Rossi supplied.

BTW: if you have the wooden grips and are going to replace them I would be interested in them.
