Made In China is gonna be here for awhile

Like it or not Mfg in china is almost on everything you pick up in a store these days, look at a can of canned clams its most likely from China, Craftsman tool? they pretty much have them too, some are pretty shoddy stuff, and then again they do have some great tools to, US markets get the throw away consumer junk.

we bought a JIFFY brand ice auger, it ran great for approx 14 holes in 3 and half foot of ice here in Northwest Alaska, then it wouldent start till you primed it 40 times, I thought it was a Tecumseh.........Boy was I wrong, it was mfg in China and the paper gaskets were cracked on this new auger, we ended up using carcker box cardboard to fabricate we ones that work tons better, problem we now found is the crank seal is bad..

I think that you're right, we'll be seeing stuff from China for a long time to come, there's no way a U.S. based manufacturer can compete with the lower wages in mainland China. Things that we used to think as 'durable goods' are now becoming disposables, use 'em a few times and junk 'em, or in your case, use a cracker bow to make new gaskets.   :)
