wierd walleye experience, fun!
« on: June 09, 2004, 09:28:05 AM »
I was fishing off of a little rocky point in Little Bay DeNoc, fishing from shore at night, casting a big white body red head Luck 'E' Strike stickbait plug thing. On the first cast I had a fish strike at it. The second cast landed me a nice walleye. Only strike either me or my dad had the whole night. I figure the fish struck in about 7 feet of water with a gravel bottom on the edge of a weed bank. I was surprised that a walleye would strike at a surface lure, especially a white one with very little action. I'm thinking that that big body in the moonlight, along with the subtle action, was enough to convince that walleye to come up and bite.  I've never really heard of walleye going after surface lures that much, but I guess it's probably pretty common in shallow water while night fishing. Anyways, it was a blast. Now I need to go back and see if I can't et a few mroe Luck 'E' Strike stickbaits from the closeout bin at my local sporting goods store.
If God wanted plastic stocks he would have made plastic trees.
