TSA to protect schools?
« on: December 17, 2012, 09:15:05 AM »
Since the TSA has been doing such a great job of protecting flights and airports, why not just have them do schools too? Kids take off their shoes before entering, get multi phase screening, metal detectors, x-rays, etc.

While I am all about some serious beefed up security in ALL public schools, I dont know about the TSA with the less than stellar track performance on customer service.  That being said- them and the Air marshals have really seemed to put a huge road block up for terrorists wanting to take over airliners.

I go through a shake down process every day when I come into a prison.  It doesnt have to be real invasive to find knives and firearms.  It can get a little invasive if you really want to search someone for drugs and other contraband such as cell phones.
It's all a hot mess...........

I tend to agree in some schools, except now you're just turning them loose on the streets.

More reason to send your children to private schools if you can afford it, or home school.
I gave up on public schools back in 02, my daughter was just not learning anything.
I would never let my child go around any TSA government pervert.

Anna,

Show a little respect. These TSA government perverts are trained professional perverts. They don't just hire any pervert off the street, although i understand that it helps.

One funny thing about this though is the reputation of TSA. I honestly have tried to think of a reputation that TSA has, like integrity, effectiveness, professionalism, etc. It has none of those. But it does have a solid and consistent reputation for perverse behavior, ineptitude, and being a laughing stock.

One of the last times I flew, I had accidentally left a pocket knife in my pocket. They didn't catch that, but they did confiscate my sun screen. A lady on the plane was knitting with the longest knitting needles i'e ever seen.
