I have the elastic shell holders on all my Handi stocks, rifle & shotgun. I also have belts for rifle and shotgun shells that hold more than I care to count right now. But if "The women find you Handi" you should only need ONE ;) ;D

i've tried the mike's/allen elastic carriers; never trusted them. i'd like to try a good quality belt carrier, with snap rather than velcro, or a belt slide. i've used wallet cases. just another layer to get through in my waist pack. trying to get away from waist packs, too; too many zippers to tempt me to fiddle with them. the older i get, the more i like simple things. there are always my britches pockets ...  :P

I agree with gendoc!Who needs the extra weight?

Yuppers!  ;)

I like to put one in each pocket (along with the chamber) so I have one any where I each.  ::) ;) Then I like the plastic ammo wallets for extra rounds.

I took a couple ideas from the thread Quick linked.  I took the cheapo Allen carrier cut it in half and singed the cut side for a four round stock carrier.  Took the other half and did the same thing for a two round wrist carrier.  Had to put a few stitches in the seam after cutting.  Worked well.  The wrist carrier keeps the bullet next to the chamber so reloading was quick.  Was a little tight after a while.  I was looking at my watch band while I was hunting and think I can combine a cheapo watch band with the carrier for next year.

Ive often wondered why nobody makes a carrier that pins on whatever you are wearing with one of those big 'deer tag' pins.......kinda like a pin-on pocket carrier.

How about sewing velco on your coveralls and using the Allen holder less the sleeve part with velcro on it .That way it could be used for different size carteiges/ shotgun shells?
Ps take the shell holders off before the wife does the laundry,it would make a heck of a racket in the washing machine

That's almost exactly the way I do it petemi ! No problems hanging up or losing rounds; holds cartridges from .223 to .35 Remington. The cut slipped over the sling swivel corrects the one problem the buttstock ammo slide has : gradually slipping up the the narrower part of the stock near the wrist.

I use the Allen nine round elastic butt stock holder on most and the Allen four round sling for some.  I have had no problems with hangups or lost ammo.  They hold even the tiny .32-20s and .38s.  All my rifles are slinged.  I cut a tiny slit in the bottom rear of the butt stock holder, singe the edges of the cut and slide it on so that the sling stud comes out the hole, replace the sling and it stays in place without squirming around.  My Savage 24 .357 Max/20 ga. will wear the Allen 5 round butt stock holder for the 20 and the 4 round sling for the Maxi.  It's in Texas now being reamed to Maxi, cut to 18.5 inches and threaded for choke tubes. ;)
