Where to find Snow Shoe Bindings?
« on: December 23, 2012, 03:02:37 AM »
I have some of the magnesium snowshoes from Sportsman's Guide that need bindings.  My dog decided that she didn't like the bindings, so she ate them.  Now we have snow and I'd like to use them for coyote hunting.  I was wondering if anybody knew where I could pick some up and what would work?

Make your own is the quickest fix.   When I ran trap lines many years ago I made my own snowshoes from scratch... not all that hard.   Depending on what the bindings are if metal and you still have them will determine what will work best with them.  But you don't need them to get the shoes back in use.  Have a bunch of 550 paracord that would work in a pinch, nylon straps from tent and awning, camping equipment or military surplus stores would also work just fine.  Oherwise from the original MFG or supplier, a north woods catalog store, trapping supply house, etc is a starting place.
Evolution at work. Over two million years ago the genus Homo had small cranial capacity and thick skin to protect them from their environment. One species has evolved into obese cranial fatheads with thin skin in comparison that whines about anything and everything as their shield against their environment. Meus
