Today is our modern gun opener!

Good luck to my fellow handgun hunters in the Bluegrass state! I'll be roosted with the 7-30 'Tender on the stand this morning. Best of luck all!!

I got one in oldham county with my 30 herrett. 14 inch t/c barrel. Was using hornady 130 ssp that someone gave me. Shot a small 4 pointer about 40 yards from my stand. Bullet went in just inside shoulder into lung and did not exit. Made a decent hole. Deer went 30 yards at best and collapsed.

Way to go Ted!!

I frailed a big doe this morning myself. Used my 14" 7-30 barrel pushing a 162 Amax over IMR 8208 XBR at 1950fps. Shot was around 45 yards from my stand, bullet passed completely thru and jellied her heart and bottom of both lungs. Went 20 yards and piled up hard!

A 15 year old shot a cow elk Dec. 14 during the Elk draw season in KY. He shot it with a T/C 10 inch 357 magnum and 185 hardcast bullet going about 1500 fps. I am jealous of the kid!!
