Beretta 391 FTE/FTF issues.
« on: October 22, 2011, 09:26:53 PM »
RecentlyI had a Beretta 391 come to me (Ret LEO Armorer/local guin-issue first responder). Never worked on one before- did the YouTube thing and the mag cap would not come off-called the owner-he said use vise-grips-I do! I had to(with padding & hammer) after solvent soak, Got it off. Per video-cleaned action w/o any oil/cleaner-steel wool only. Gun which was a FTE/ FTF worked for about 30 rounds and started the FTFeed/ thing again. Any suggestions?

alot of the times its the carrier causing the failure to feed the next shell. the older style 302-303-390 models have a little bit of a bend in them. not sure why Beretta changed it to straight??
check out trapshooters and shotgunwrold for more info on this issue.
midwestgunwork sells the older 303 bent one for about $40 bucks

Thanks, I'll try that next.  Probably won't see it again until the day before Dove season with an emergency repair plea!
