My wife and I decided, with his mom's permission, to buy an H&R 12 ga. from a local estate sale of a friend for my nephew. It's needing a lot of work, but it's a 1940 Round tang with the left-right toggle release and snap on forend. So far I've got about 10 hours into refinishing, but I think it'll be worth it.
This is the wood and hoping to have the metal stripped and re-blued by next week some time. Then hopefully in early December he and I can go do some skeet shooting. He's been wanting to have a gun for a long time, so I'm hoping it turns out good for him. I like the way the wood turned out at least.
