Anyone have a GLOCK Carbine?
« on: October 17, 2012, 04:06:26 AM »
I have known about this Mag Tech conversion for some years.

They offer one for a 1911 frame and another for GLOCK frames. Basically it's a barrel assembly like used on a AR platform. Uses same mags and lower controls with a long carbine barrel and sights. It utalizes AR sites, butt stocks, Optics and accessories if you like. Power is increased about 15-25% depending on caliber with 10MM coming out on top mostly because hi pressure offerj gs really respond to longer barrels where lo pressure rounds like STD 45 acp may actually loose FPS from longer tubes.

I think it's gonna be my next "toy".  I just need to deside if I wanna use the G20 10MM or G23 40 cal as I will then get true 10MM ballistics and the ability of true hi cap 30 r d mags...

Cool idea CW,
Maybe a Glock 20 in the future to go with my 26.
Thanks for the video link.

I was able to hit the range yesterday, as I was cleaning up a friend stopped in to shoot. Guess what he had.... A carbine conversion unit for a 1911!! It was very accurate and workman ship was as good as expected. He likes it allot.
I even was able to shoot it!! Feels just like a AR to me even has same sound with collapsablemstock!

The Mec-Tech is nice, but its not a 'Glock Carbine'. The Glock Carbine is a myth that Glock owners have hoped for for years, but will probably never happen.
That said, I have a 9mm Just Right Carbine that uses Glock mags;

Very reliable, close to 1000rds of various ammo and assorted mags.

That does look "just right"  ;)

 I'd love to get my hands on a glock carbine myth or not!
