Bullets for hogs

I'm gonna go with my buddy down to SC to his cousins place and do some hog hunting, and was gonna use my AR-15 in 5.56 cause he said bring a gun that you can have quick follow up shots to take as many hogs as you can. I went to cabelas to get ammo and had 2 boxes of the federals with the barnes tsx bullets and when I went to check out they had a line all the way across the store so I said heck with it I'll come back after the holidays and grab them, well now after that shooting people bought up all the 223 ammo so now I'm stuck with the ammo I have in stock which is wolf fmj and hp ammo. So should I just say heck with taking the AR and grab some thing else or would that ammo be ok ? Oh I also have a sks but again wolf fmj and hp ammo for that too but a lil bigger hole. He said that he has seen a couple of big hogs that weigh probably 140lbs, which doesn't seem like they are that big compared to pics of other peoples pics of their hogs.

I guess it's a matter of perspective but a 140lb hog here is considered a milk sucker. Hogs are not hard to kill as long as the bullet can penetrate the meat. There are many killed here in the 300lb+ size with 223 FMJ. But if you just think you need more gun, the SKS is a good cartridge too. I would suggest avoiding any HP bullets though.
Here's hog hunting in Texas around the Houston area from helicopter. They're using a 223 with fmj ball ammo.
