Girsan, (Turkish made) 1911

Has anyone tried one of these?  They appear very well made, far superior to some I held, and are just over $400.00.

Like Mr. AtLaw--I got my notificaton yesterday from Buds.
$400 and a lot of hype!? I dunno, but if I was in the market, it would be due some amount of consideration.
I don't see much in a 1911 copy that could be too bad, except for the metalurgy of the gun and parts---fitting, at this price, would be the major concern in my mind. But Then, I like all of mine to be looked at closely by a good Smith before it is road tested.

Great, please somebody buy one and let us know about it.....I am just now....getting over my little scrape...as in purchasing a $900  Colt three years ago and having it fail on the very first round.....the kind and loving guys standing around helpfully purchased it from me at a nice discount (after I got it back from Colt repaired...something about the extractor)  All in all...at age 68 life is to short and sweet to waste time.   So I am hot on the hunt for real value, in a rock solid 1911 but must be under $500.  I tried the wonderful plastic acp 45 acp from Austria...but NO....I must as a part of the old bucket list....have at least one, steel, and GI type 1911 could this be it......more comments sought and thanks for reading the rant!

I did not buy  this gun, I just have a thing about buying something I've never held or looked at so I could not bring myself to it.  If they are a real value they will show up in a gun shop near me at some point.

From what I've seen, the Turkish guns have been superior to the Philippine offerings, in metallurgy anyway.  Haven't seen the Turkish 1911 clones yet, speaking of their pistols and shotguns. If I were in the market for a clone in that price range, (sure don't need another 1911) I would consider this one.

If you should encounter a Norinco 45 in your price bracket you'd be wise to grab it.  rp
