Contender Forend problem

I have an older Contender with a one-screw forend.  I have taken the screw out but the forend will not come off barrel.  I bought gun recently and know forend was off before I purchased so what can I do besides cussing it to get it off?  Have already put medium force on it and no luck.

Could be the forend is bedded to a barrel hanger so the barrel free floats. Grab the front and back of the forend and rock it back and forth as you pull it away from the barrel.
