Hey Jeff, were you calling them with your son's new caller (or is it your new caller? I can't remember) or were they targets of opportunity, wrong place at the wrong time?

I'm planning on yote calling Saturday morning.  :-)  I'm working up until then.  :(

I think I might just have to go check the local regs and see if crows are in season right now.  Never hurts to have a backup plan if the yotes are sleeping.

later,
scruffy

I haven't tried them yet with the .223.  I used to shoot them with the .22lr, but boy do they squawk when you wing them. They would make good practice for the match.

Jeff,
I imagine it's like when I hit a rabbit with my .35 Rem. I'll give it a try as soon as possible. The crow is the one and only critter your allowed to hunt on Sunday here in PA.

Jeff
I shot a pigeon  with a 223 . It appeared as if someone had thrown a basket of feathers into the air. There wasn't a feather left on the body, just the wing feathers. The birds were picking grain out of a field that had just been planted.
Shoot straight , shoot often.

I have a Simmons 3-10x44mag on mine. I was going to get another
WTC-18 and put it on the 223 barrel. Then move the 44 mag to the 270. But I had to wait till my next paycheck. By that time they were sold out.
I might get the Simmons 1056 for the 223 now.

jeff223,

Crow are always good for shooting in my book.   Glad to see so many of the H&R/NEF guys are here too.   Now maybe I will post more.
