Anyone here using Duke #3 Coilsprings for coyotes?  If so, what are your opinions of that trap?

Haven't tried the #3s yet. I bought a few #2s awhile back as an inexpensive trap to test on coyotes, and so far I have not been disappointed. They aren't too big, built OK (maybe on light side, but not as bad as some older model #2s in other brands) and have held coyotes well for me so far. We have a high coon population in areas I trap, and wanted a smaller trap to be easy on dryland coon catches but still work for coyotes and cats. I use #2 longs almost exclusively but also have a few #2 coils. The Dukes so far have worked OK for what little cash I laid out for them in comparison to other larger and more expensive coyote traps on the market today. I haven't tried them in snow yet, or very deep winter conditions, but early fall I was pleasantly surprised with the test results. I bet the #3s would fair nearly as well if not better with the larger jaw spreads. The jaws are only slightly rounded (more like oval shaped when set) but jaw height isn't as much this way so not as much spread as a truly round (tall) jaw model and wouldn't grab up too high on a coyote's pad or above the pad.
