Vgaby, thanks for the links and its pretty good reading, but I want my casehardening to be aged instead of bright like it is now. My barrel and cylinder is a nice rusty brown, and I want the rest to match. Thanks! :D  DM

Dalton, I did the picante sauce dip on the Charcoal blue on my Walker and it worked great. I didn't do the case hardened parts so I am not sure on that. I have heard that it will work, but never seen the end results.

Do you just dip it in Pace? I suppose the acid in the tomato paste is what does it, huh. THanks, I will give it a try. DM

Dalton, I put the blued parts in picante sauce, left them there for about 1 1/2 hours(just check them, longer or shorter time won't matter). When it gets to where you want, rinse in water very well, then put in an oven(low, low heat) just to dry, then steel wool the metal, which will dull the finish a little. Then, oil with Ballistol lightly. After a few loads of BP( wiping the soot in, just be careful of rust. Surface rust is not bad) the metal should turn. Here again I have only done this on "blued" parts.
