did they miss one of the bill of rights items?

Maybe 11 should have been to outlaw political parties, or at least require more than two major ones.  How about term limits PERIOD, no more "public" service for anyone once having served in any capacity.  Even, allowing for parties, disallow the same party from winning the same seat in sequence; you would have to choose from several alternatives.

Now, this ougta stir up something!  I do realize that there have been well meaning, well liked people in office in time past that did "good".

No 12?  Always give to option of "none of the above".
just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they are not watching you

we need to have the BOR imposed on our so-called representatives.

term limits are an excellent starting place: IMO...no more than two terms, four years each, per life time in ANY elected office, state, federal, county, city, municipal etc...paid benefits ONLY during the course of serving in office...NO retirement benefits beyond what a private sector job would pay for the same amount of time served.

That's another point where the meaning of the Constitution is debatable, I believe. When I read it, it seems obvious to me that it means "at least" two parties. Both the parties in power want to interpret it as "only" two parties, of course, since they are one of the two. I'd also like to see a "none of the above" choice on the ballots, though that probably won't ever happen, either, because then there would be no way to hide the fact that most voters would not pick either of the two parties' candidates.
If you give up, THEY don't have to win.

"'Cause what they do in Washington, they just take care of number 1. And number 1 ain't you. $__t, you ain't even number 2!" Frank Zappa

The greatest idea the right ever had is personal responsibility; the greatest idea the left ever had is social responsibility. Both take effort.

The Founding Fathers had complete access to the Bible, but they came up with the Constitution as our governing document.
