I have a chance to pick up this old H&R shotgun.
I could use any info on it you guys might have.
Markings on top of barrel:
J Pires & Fils Anvers
Appreciate any help you can give.

A great looking and difficult to find shotgun buddy. Buy it first so it does not get away and we can work on those markings at our (your) leisure....<><....

He had two of the little 410's.
One is just a old H&R that folds like this one.
We just couldn't find anything on this one.
He's holding them for me.
But I suspect I'll own them soon.

Good for you, get both guns. There has been a couple of posts about the folding H&R .410's here. Mostly they were about how hard they were to find and where to get one....<><....

I found 1 little tid-bit of info on it:
"The H&R "Folding" Gun was made in two frame sizes. The Light Frame Model was made in 28 ga and 410 only, while the Heavy Frame version was made in 12, 16, 20, 28 and 410. Also the Light Frame Models had a 22" barrel while the Heavy Frame verion had a 26" barrel. The Folding Model was made from 1910 to 1940."
The Folding Model was based of the Model 1905/08. Don't know if this will help, but there is my two-cents for what its worth.
I have some serial number listings for the Model 1905/08, these usually fall within these serial number listings.

I had a 410 folder as a kid and thought the barrel on that one was longer. So I guess I had the light version. It was passed down through all the kids and the last I heard my nephew had it. But, he's kind of went south. I need to check to see if has sold it....probably has.

I brought the H&R home. But due to unforeseen cercumctances I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. But I have to say I really like the way it feels.
