H & R Topper 158

[Grandpa Crusty]

I just acquired a H & R Topper 158 in 30-30. Serial #AG291279. There doesn't seem to be much information on the web. I'm hoping someone can tell me the date of manufacture, how to download a instruction manuel and anything else interesting about this rifle?

Check out the "faq's and help" at the top of the page, lots of good info. It appears your gun was manuf. in 1970. Welcome!

I picked one up from a gunshow-it came with a 30/30 barrel and a 20 guage shotgun barrel.I haven't shot it yet-but it seems to be solid and locks up   tight .No reason  why it shouldn't do the job but I have a savage 219 in 30/30 with a peep sight that I use.
Being in Canada we don't have access to the factory barrel program-US Homeland security prohibits individuals shipping guns-or gun parts across the border-even single shot rifles,scopes or ammunition.If we did,I'd like to pick up the extra barrels,but since  thats not an option-you have what you have and thats it-or buy another rifle.
