Have you tryed any Hornady SPSX 50gr out of your 223 rifle

Hi was going to load some of the Hornady 50gr SPSX up for my 223 i have a Rem 700 1:12 twist i hope they shoot good out of my gun i am going to be using AA 2015 powder and a Remington BR primers i have a bunch of Nosler BT 50gr on hand and i know what the BT will do BUT out of my 22 250 the 223 is a new rifle i have to find a load for it  i have a bunch of the SX on hand too i think they will do good out of my 223 rifle on a coyote if you have shot the SX bullets please let me know how they do VM

My current load for my NEF Handi .223 is 26.5gr/W-748/CCI 400/oal of 2.300. This is with the 55 gr Hornaday SPSX. It shoots very well out of my 1-12 NEF barrel. I have not yet connected with any yotes as of yet with this load, but should be just fine. The 55gr Vmax shoots great out of my gun as well.

I have shot the 50 gr SX before (a brick - 500) out of my M700V w/1-12" twist.  They work fine and expansion on varmints was explosive - pun intended!  I was using original BLC2 at the time so can't give a current good load for them.  However, I settled on the 55 gr SX over 26.5 gr of H335 and shot over 8,000 of them before I had to set the barrel back to pick up some throat.  They are very accurate as the rifle would shoot in the .5s" when I first started using them and was still MOA when the throat was shot out.  With the barrel set back the rifle once again is shooting in the .5s" (that's 5 consecutive 5 shot groups).  

The SXs are very deadly on small varmints and I have connected on rockchucks beyond 500 yards.  I like to "line up" ground sqirrels as they sit by their dens.  The max with one shot is 3 KIAs with the 4th very gut splattered.  On coyotes I seldom get an exit on a heart/lung shot under 250 yards or so and little pelt damage when they do exit.  

Even with the new technology in BTs etc. I find the SXs are still my 1st choice, excellent performance and reasonable cost, in all my .223s of 1-12 and 1-14 twist.

Thanks i wanted to know how they work on coyotes and they are cheaper price bullet than the BT and you say they work as good i am going to use them on coyotes fox and cats 275 yrds or less i have a 22 250 i have loaded up some of the Varget powder and shoot paper only i think they would blow a crow to feathers lol and they group GOOD out of my 22 250 but my main load for it is 55gr BT i wanted to try some SX out of my 223 because of the price of them VM
