I couldn't resist
« on: January 28, 2013, 02:57:56 PM »
After picking up a FA 252 Varmint Class a few weeks back, I came along this one at a price I couldn't pass up.  It is a Premier Grade in .475 Linebaugh with 7.5" octagon barrel and Micarta grips.  The gun appears unfired, not a mark on it.  I've got some Buffalo Bore 420gr 950 fps ammo on the way, I sure hope it gets here before the weekend.

Congrats again Deacon! That's a beautiful revolver. My hunting experience with the .475 L is limited....a grand total of two deer...but it seems to me that the .475 hits like a truck at mid-range velocity. If you want to make it sit up and talk it can do that but 400's at 1100 fps or so do a fine job at a recoil level that's not at all unpleasant. Enjoy.

Thanks!  I think those 420gr bullets at 950FPS should handle anything I would ever care to shoot here in Louisiana.  That's not to say I won't try some of the heavy hitters, just because what's the point of owning a .475 if you don't let the big dog bark once in a while.
