Finally got what I've always wanted
« on: January 13, 2013, 09:06:28 AM »
I've wanted a Freedom Arms 252 Varmint Class ever since I first saw one in 1991.  Well, I finally got one.  It was built in January 1991 and according to the seller has only had 100 rounds through it.  It came with a Leupold 2X scope, Millett Silhouette sight, an extra 22 Magnum cylinder and the original box.

Just curious, does anyone know how many Varmint Class guns were made?  Thanks.

Congratulations Deacon52! The only one of those I've ever seen had a 5" barrel and I passed on it. I can't give you any info on the numbers made but would bet the nice lady that answers the phone at FA could give you some info.
When I look at that gun I could picture a morning spent in a squirrel woods...or maybe humbling (and outclassing) the contender boys at a .22 silhouette match.. ;D ...or sniping at prairie dogs with the mag cylinder.
 Enjoy!

Thanks! Squirrel hunting is precisely what I had in mind.

I've had it out to the range twice so far.  At 25 yards from the bench, I was able to shoot sub 1/2" groups regularly with both the 22 LR and 22 WMR cylinders.  I would put four shots into one ragged hole, then throw a flyer.  I know the gun is capable of much better groups than I can shoot.  It sure is a blast having a .22 revolver that is capable of shooting such amazing groups.
