Traditions inline?
« on: February 07, 2013, 05:39:09 AM »
I just picked up a Traditions Sporter 209 for $40 for my first in-line and it looks to be unfired so I think I got a good deal :D . It didn't come with the breech plg removal tool so is there a way to make one. I know I can just order one and I will if necessary but I absolutly hate pay for shipping when it's as much or more than the item I'm buying.
Thanks, Mike

I was about to recommend that you use the appropriate sized deep socket.  That's the system used on my TC's, Knights, and H&R BP rifles.  I just use the correct sized socket instead of the BP wrench that the company gives you with the gun.  I only carry the manufacturers BP wrench when I'm hunting, in case of an emergency where I have to take out the BP in the field.

Then I took a look at my Traditions rifle, which I haven't used in a while, and realized that it has a completely different BP type wrench.  Unless you have a BP that is shaped like a nut, or someone else can think of a tool that looks like an inverted "U" on the end, it looks like you might have to buy a BP wrench from the company.  You can give the Sportsmans Guide a call, if your lucky they might have one.

My quandary, I personally, don't think I have enough Handi's but, I know I have more Handi's than I really need or should have.
