BC Classic Carbine?

Found a used but like new BC Classic Carbine in the 45LC. He wants $300 for it. It is missing the front sight and he has an AimPoint red dot mounted which would be removed as soon as I got home. Do you think it would be a good deal? How accurate are these in that caliber? I have the BC Buffalo Classic in 45/70 and really like it.

For $300 I'd have already bought it. It'd cost you more than that to buy the stocks and barrel here in the classifieds.
I had one in the past and currently have one in the rack. Both of them were/are good shooters.
The 45 is good for plinking or heavy loads and makes a very good close range deer/bear gun. If you handload you can really make the 45 shine.
Check the chamber and make sure it's good... some of them came from the factory with oversized or odd sized chambers. I've been lucky in that both of mine were fine.

Like Spanky said, there is no reason not to buy it. You can part it out here or ebay and get your money back easily.

Aimpoints arent cheap either ;) . You would definitely turn a profit if you bought and didnt like it.

Good lord.  I've never paid any attention to Aimpoint red dots, I just went to Midway and  :o :o :o.   Those things cost more than the BC Carbine did new. :o

I had, some many years ago, happened upon an aimpoint scope that I'm gonna guess was the original design.

it was about 5.5" long, 3/4" tube, and 1/2" inside tube.  1x with an ultra fine dot, that when turned up, it was about 1/2 pie plate at 100m, but turned down to just able to see it levels, and it was about 1" at 100m.

I wish I had it back for my .223SL.

I traded it for something, I no longer have....   probably drank it, or sumpin!

I then bought a ProPoint....    not even 1/4 the quality of that old aimpoint.
