A source for Garands

I have a friend who wants an M1 Garand.  Looks like just about all the dealers who sold them are gone.  Anyone seen a source that is still selling them?

I would checkout gunsamerica, gunbroker, auction arms,  pawn shops, gunshops and gun shows.  At the last gun show at the BIG "E" in Westspringfield,Mass there was tons of garands they out numbered all the other guns there.  Of course they are high priced too $750 to $1200.  Or you can buy parts and build one too SOG has the barreled recievers around $160 to $200.  Maybe some here knows about the CMP garands that can be bought thru your local club too.                 BigBill

I just got back from a friend's house and he was proud as could be about the M-1 he got from the Civilian Marksmanship Program and showed me a slick brochure that they sent along with the rifle.  They also had M-14's and M-1 carbines, some in 5.7 spitfire caliber.  The brochure also listed available ammo. :-D

There are 100's of M-1 Garand Barreled Receivers available.

They come in 3 grades and prices run from about $175 to $225.

If you want more info just drop a line.

Thanks guys, I passed the info on to the friend who wants one and he was appreciative.  I might want one of those barreled receivers myself, Mark.
I didn't know  that the complete rifles were bringing such high prices.
Much obliged all,
Doc
