Fox pro calls
« on: January 27, 2013, 04:21:48 AM »
Help me decide which call to purchase. I haven't hunted coyotes much but I continue to see more at the lease and want to start hunting them. I will probably use the call six times/yr, and price does matter. Is the firestorm that much better for the price vs wildfire?

Any help would be appreciated.

For what it is worth I bought a Spitfire on Wednesday and had it out yesterday, and after 20 years of using mouth calls, I am sold on the foxpro!

I also use the spitfire,I only hunt off and on for about 6 weeks a year but did call in 8 of the 9 I got last year. I had my nephew download an additional card from the foxpro sight so I can change it out with more vocals for the mating season. Wish it was waterproof though.

One thing with electronics - price usually indicates better quality, power, options etc.  I've never owned a FoxPro but these two callers should do anyone an excellent job for the price.

I would maybe visit a few predator sites and see what their using and why.

Myself, I have the WildLife Technologies MA-21, which is expensive but back in the day they were hands down the go-to company for realistic sounds.  I sometimes need the power the MA-21 provides, otherwise, I probably would have went with a less expensive caller.

FoxPro is their equal today relative to realistic sounds (so I've heard & read), so all you need to concern yourself with is how much power (loudness) you need, speaker quality and ease of operation of your remote.  If you want WT's perspective on FoxPro's equal claim here's a little light reading:

Fox Pro is one of the suporters of the Eastern Outdoors Sportsmen Show boycott.  I don't have a use for their calls, but if I did they would get my money.  Their manufacturing facility is just 35 minutes from me and a few of them stop in the store from time to time.
