Mexico: 9-Year-Old Has Given Birth to Baby Girl     MEXICO CITY February 7, 2013 (AP) 
 
Mexican authorities say a 9-year-old girl has given birth in western Mexico and they are looking for the purported father, a 17-year-old.
Jalisco state police spokesman Lino Gonzalez says the baby girl was born last week at a hospital in the city of Guadalajara. He says the girl and her baby are doing well.
Gonzalez said Wednesday that the girl's family alerted authorities after she gave birth and the alleged father has not been seen since in the neighborhood the both live in. He says that if the teenager's paternity is proven he could face child sex abuse charges.
Gonzalez says the girl told authorities the teenager was her boyfriend.

One of my kin had a child at 15---and---it did not shock the folks of that age in the  1870's.

Yes I had a cousin who in the 50's at age 14 had a child , she married at 13 .

big difference between a 9 year old girl
and a teenager.
back in those old days, somebody that
made it to their 60's was considered ancient.
my folks and ancestors had married, fought
in wars, raised families and crops, had feuds,
and such by the time they were looking at
their 20's
being sexual with a 9 or 10 year old girl is
a crime and an outrage and abomination

Good friend of mine's Daughter gave birth 2 weeks after turning 14. The father was some guy she met online. She told him she was 18, but no way did she look it. She told her parents she was spending a weekend at her friend's house, but instead spent the weekend shacked up in a motel with the child molester. Being a big girl, no one suspected she was pregnant till late in the pregnancy. 6 years later and she's 20 and the boy is in the first grade. Funny thing is, he's more like a little brother to her than a son. While they were devastated at first, he is a grandchild to my friend and his wife just like their others.  God knows they would not want things different now and they feel blessed to have him.
