I know at one time my Banner(St.Croix Valley) at the top of the page was not visible to all.My question to you guys,is it visible now --when you enter in to this site?? Thank you

When i came on this time it was Hornady bullets and then some type of patches..... I would THINK if one is on a TRAPPING FORUM that your banner would be up ALL the time your on the trapping forum.... This is my take of paying for advertising on a trapping forum...... Now if i was a newcomer to this site i wouldnt even know there or you sold trapping supplies..... hope this helps you

If you mean the Muskrat with the big tail, it is up everytime I 'm at the trappping index page but goes away when I move onto topics.

OKay im set to always go to topic page on trapping and thats why i dont see banner BUT..................When on trapping topic page Toms' banner should be displayed at ALL times as he is not paying for scopes and ammo ect which he doesnt sell.... Tom is selling trapping supplies and his adv for trapping supplies should be up at all times when people are viewing trapping forum... NUFF SAID.

Yepper, its there Tom. I have my computer set to come directly to the Trapping topics page and logged on automatically and I see it dont know about after repling to a topic.

WQ, dont know about it being a muskrat but it is the sorriest colored beaver I ever saw. If that is the type of beaver we had up here I would get alot more ice fishing done.

Just now seeing this Tom. Faye called it to my attention as I don't drop by here often.

The banner is set to ALWAYS display at the top of the Trapping Forum. It is impossible for it to be replaced by any other. It is hard coded into the Trapping forum. There is also a rotating banner that is below it. Rotating banners display on all pages. Forum Sponsorship banners display ONLY on the Forum they are sponsoring and only when the Forum List is up. In other words when a person is looking at the list of Trapping Discussion Topics the banner will always be at the top of the page.

Now at times you "might" get a red "X" instead of any banner on the site. or any graphic for that matter. That means the page didn't fully load for some reason. It happens. I think that stupid Top 100 thing up in the upper left corner of page is at fault. I'm going to have it removed as soon as Matt can figure out how it got it to display there. It can't keep up with our server speed and is slowly down the entire site and needs to go.

Other than that there is no reason the banner wouldn't ALWAYS be visible when on the Trapping Forum Page where the list of all topics is displayed. But once you click onto an individual subject to read that banner isn't again visible until you go back to the list and then if you've scrolled down far enough on the page it will be hidden at the top. BUT when you first open the page it should always be the very first thing seen.

Please advise me via PM or e-mail if you fail to see it there except in the case of one of those stupid little red X's. If you get that a refresh will bring up the banner when the page reloads. You'll see the same except without the X at times for emoticons icons or other banners. I think when Matt finds and removes that Top 100 thing it will reduce if not end that red x deal.

:? Okay, after half a dozen tries tonite I finally got it! Had to go all the way back to the homepage and then to forums and then pick ours and hit it and it finally came up over the top of one of the hunting banners....normally I just hit the forum page in my favorites and come right to the site. Guess it's a good thing I do all my buying in person or I'd never know what ya had!

Now Marshin explains same thing i experienced..... I dont think this is fair to Tom in his supporting this forum...... Toms' business should be in the fore front anytime your on this forum.....As i type this i see a CDB enterprises for software ad, NOTHING on trapping.. :cry:

Guys you aren't listening to me.

Tom has paid for a fixed postion FORUM SPONSORSHIP banner. I don't care how you get to the Trapping Forum the banner is the absolute FIRST THING at the top of the page EVERY SINGLE TIME you open the Trapping Forum. It can't NOT be there unless as I mentioned the page fails to fully load and you see a little red X instead. That can happen anywhere to any graphic image but shouldn't happen to his banner even 1/2 of one percent of the time.

The URL of the Trapping Forum is:

If you set here and click on it 1000 times then 999 times it should show his banner at the absolute top of the page. The other time you might see a little red X because the page didn't fully load.

He does not have a rotating banner. Therefore you will NEVER EVER see his banner in the rotation. ONLY on the Trapping Forum. That is what he asked for and paid for and is getting.

Now it is possible some of you are not even waiting for the page to load before you try to begin scrolling down to where you can see the list of messages but even so the absolute first thing that loads on the Trapping Forum Page is Tom's banner. On my computer it is ALWAYS there before the scroll bar is there.

Do not assume that you are going to see it when you are reading a thread or posting a reply or message. The only thing you see then is the rotating banners.

Okay Bill i understand what you are saying about the rotating banner adv. I do get Toms' banner when i first go to trapping forum ect. As i was mentioning when i was on post site i wasnt seeing anything and your explanation clears that..... i was under impression ( See i shouldnt assume :>) ) that Toms banner on trapping would be visible at all times when on any part of trapping forum.... Misunderstanding cleared!

It would be nice to be able to do that for all of my Forum Sponsorship Advertisers and we would IF we could but that isn't do able with the software we have. Maybe some day someone will offer such a software modification and we can do that for our Advertisers.

My point exactly. IF anyone really pays attention and looks at the top of the Forum Page and the banner isn't there nor is the little red X indicating page failed to fully load I really would like to hear of it. It should be a physical impossibility to not have it there since it is hard coded to open first before anything else on the page loads and is in view when the page opens.

Now what would be nice if the technology is ever made available would be to have that banner just sit there when you open this forum and never leave your screen. If you change pages in the forum it would still be there at the top. But sadly that isn't do able at this time. May never be but it sure would be nice if it ever comes along.

Yup I dunno what that &sid is at the end of it. That shouldn't be there. Take it off in your favorites list and you'll see the banner each time you visit. I have no clue how you got that on the end of the Forum URL or why with it there you do not see the banner. BUT I cannot control what is seen at URLs other than the valid URL for the Trapping Forum wich is:

At that URL which is the ONLY valid URL for this forum you will see the banner first thing when the forum begins to load. Even before the rotating banner or any of the other stuff that loads below it.

I can only assume that is a partial of the URL of something you once viewed on this forum. But I sure dunno. The only possibility I can think of is this. At one time we had a large number of user selectable options on how the pages look to you. BUT to allow this Matt either had to load every change to include banners to each and every one of those as if it was a separate forum for in effect it was. OR he loaded them only to the most frequently used options which he usually did. I ended this option totally a good while back and over rode all user selected options. Now everyone can see only the default option of sub silver. Maybe what you saved was tied to your user selected option which didn't have the banner added. To add it to each took many hours of Matt's time and he just finally refused to take the time. So I deleted all user options to allow the banners to show for everyone. If this isn't it I have no clue.
