conn needs disaster money?
« on: February 10, 2013, 08:01:15 AM »
The news this am said the governor is asking for Federal disaster help.  Is this snow that bad?  Where do you draw the line on personal responsibility, then community responsibility, and sometimes just taking things in stride.  We know the snow will melt, a lot will miss a few days work; volunteer linemen will get the electricity back up where needed, and the electric rates will go up as usual.

Who bails the Feds out?  Maybe the UN will print some money to hand out.

I am not against giving help where it is needed, but I didn't build on a beach, in a lowland, not have any way to get food, and the other things that seem to make things into disasters.
just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they are not watching you

What a joke. 2 - 3 feet of snow fell and now they need disaster money? This is a perfect example of what's wrong with our country these days.
"Necessity is the plea for every infringement of human freedom. It is the argument of tyrants; it is the creed of slaves."

---- William Pitt (the Younger), Speech in the House of Commons, November 18, 1783
