Night vision scope
« on: January 03, 2013, 07:42:14 AM »

Anyone using a night vision scope, or know about sighting one in.  Instructions say not to use the scope in the daylight, so how can you sight one in?  I wouldn't want to go shooting at night just to sight in.

Not sure which one you've got, but most have a pin hole in the center of the lens cover for just that--

I have a gen 1 rifle scope, but it`s a Russin scope and is very hard to zero as it track very poorly. I would recomand that if you get one like that that you fire a shot then lock your gun in a vise and zero to the hit. I have went to gen 3 gogles and a lazer sight on the gun. I no longer have to hold up the gun to see and I don`t have to point my gun at someone to see it is a person. I you go with a lazer sight you`ll want the weakest one you can find. Even a 5mil red seems to shine forever and a green one looks like a big flood lite.

Thanks Dennis,  I got a ATN gen 1,  looks great at night to about 200 yards, only 2.5 power. I havent had a chance to shoot with it yet as I just got a
Base for the scope.

Digital night vision scopes can be used day or night.
