I can't speak on every member of the bfro, but a lot of them are "bigfoot know it alls" By this I mean they Know bigfoot exists, they Know where and what it eats, the Know where it sleeps, they Know all of its habits, they Know where it lives, etc... They Know all of this without being able to prove anything about it, much less if it exists. Doesn't make much sense to me to claim to be an expert on bigfoot, but not be able to prove it exists. If I knew as much about a creature as a lot of these people claim then I promise you I could find one and prove its existence. Matt Moneymaker, who founded the bfro, makes a lot of money off of it and is nothing but a hoaxer himself. He claims to be the foremost expert on all things bigfoot, but still he cannot provide any viable proof of its existence.
With regards to DNA samples. A dna sample is not going to come back as "bigfoot". I am sure you already know this, but if you don't have something to compare it to, then you don't get a viable answer.

Well, I vow to do my part.  If I ever see one while hunting, I will do my part to science and put it down.  That will end this debate. :)

As for legality.  Since it isn't believed by science or the government to exist, it isn't an endangered species.  It isn't a game animal nor fur bearer.  That would put it falling in the non-game  animal category if it does exist.  In Georgia, there is no closed season on non-game animals that are not protected.  So other than the attacks from the left wing animal lovers, I should be ok not to mention, I get all kinds of tv time, my name in the history books, shoot, I would probably get to give it its official scientific name.  I would probably get a book deal and maybe even a movie.  I would never have to work again.  Ahh, I love daydreaming.  :)

ROSEWOOD, I will be the first one to write a check for you defense fund if it goes sideways for you when your truck rolls into town w/ the carcass on the back!

shaggybull said:"I have a friend that is an avid Bigfoot person she is a member of the BFRO their organization investigates sightings. Most turn out to be hogwash.  DNA samples they have found test out as unknown animal."
Exactly!
Mike, you're right on this one!  Because unless an complete, or almost complete carcass is brought in, a tiny part of it (like a DNA sample) WILL be called unknown.  It doesn't matter if it's close to a known primate, w/o a control sample ID'ed in the system, it's called uknown.  Now, unknown doesn't mean the sample is dismissed as false, DNA doesn't lie, (though a sample can be contaminated through any number of ways), it just means no control sample is already classified.  There's murders & rapists whose DNA has been entered into national system, BUT, because the person has not been caught yet, that DNA is "uknown" (no name).

Now, this is my last post in this thread so, once again, I'm going to try to explain the difference between knowing and believing this with a medium most of us ARE framiliar with, that being sex!  Remember when your older friend, who had a girlfriend, told you how good sex was?  Then another friend and another friend told you it was good?  You began to believe it was good!  You had faith, not from something you did or saw, but from others who had already been there & done that.  Eventually, you had some first hand experience with a female, then you knew sex was good!  I can't make this any simpler and hope this is being followed.....  I saw BF before I had an experience with a woman.  So, I had to take it on belief & faith that sex was good.  I know BF is real because I have seen it.  I've been with 51 women, so I know sex is good.

Would it be too unreasonable to have some faith & belief?  You want to see BF: get into the woods!   You want to be with a woman: date!

Mike: did you order the books yet? I didn't think so.   If you think Matt Moneymaker is such a fraud, tell him.  I'm sure he's heard it before.  DeVinchie was called a fraud when he pustulated the earth was not the center of the galaxy (no, not the Ford Galaxy).

One last thought.  I agree: many, many sightings are simply honest mistakes (especially @ night), such as seeing bears, other animals etc.  There are people that have dilusional mental illness & ailments, they just see all kinds of things.  There are sad & lonely people that make up a story, like that guy who lied about being a combat vet, then got caught.  I can see him saying, "Yeah, I saw BF!!" There are people that make up a lie for profit, like that lady who said she had cancer and they collected $$ for her.  If she thought selling her, "I saw BF" story, would get her $$, then I could see her making it up. Now, explain to us how thousands of sane, honest, stable people, w/ no axe to grind and no profit motivation, would say we saw something we didn't?  Is Matt Moneymaker that GOOD, did he convince us all to lie or to have dilusions?  If he really is that GOOD of a grifter and convidence man?  If he is, then he needs to move onto something w/ a bigger profit margin then a petty rip-off like a TV show on Animal Planet where he has to hike through swamps, woods and howl in the dead of night!
W/ that I'm out of this thread.
I don't need to fight to prove I'm right, I don't need to be forgiven, no, no, no (from the song ‘Baba O'Riley’ by The Who)

Ok, That is the first time I have ever heard anyone link the existence of bigfoot and sex together, but whatever floats your boat. Using a anatomical, mental, hormone induced, and physiological human response that we are pre-programmed with to suggest that I should believe in bigfoot with no evidence to support it is ridiculous. I get where you are going, but it is definitely not in the same ballpark. As far as my faith and belief, well like I stated before, I used to be in the believers camp, but after years and years and years and years of no evidence, after all the advances in technology that would aid one in finding bigfoot, and still no evidence, and after growing up and realizing how silly it is, well, I just don't believe anymore. Hey, its ok though, we all believed in santa clause at one time too.

As far as the book, no I didn't order them because I am not spending my hard earned money ordering a book that is going to try to convince me that a 8ft tall monkey man is running around every state in the nation as well as every continent and country and still manages to elude capture or even a really good picture. If you want me to read them that bad, mail them to me and I will read them. Besides every single bit of information in those books I am sure I have seen on one of the many discovery channel documentaries I have watched over the years on bigfoot. Also, Moneymaker is a fraud and has been caught doing it. If I knew him I would be more than happy to tell him so. Then he could go off on one of his idiotic tirades like he normally does when anyone questions anything he says or does. This has happened many times on certain forums. He has also claimed to be a lawyer, which he is not.

I have spent my entire life in the outdoors. I live to hunt, fish, kayak, and spend a large majority of my free time in places most people don't go. I have also been married for quite a few years so I know what the woman thing is like too. Still haven't seen bigfoot though. Although, my mother in law reminds me of him sometimes.  I have never seen anything that could not be explained away while I was in the outdoors. Now, I am not saying you should not believe. Go right ahead, that is your personal right to believe whatever you want. I am not calling you a liar. I believe you saw something and that you trully think you saw bigfoot.  I will choose not to believe until some viable evidence is presented otherwise. As of yet this has not been done. You present your case as to why you believe, I present mine as to why I don't. Like I said it is up to the believers to prove bigfoot exists. Its not up to the nonbelievers to prove it doesn't. I love cryptozoology and all things paranormal. I like reading about it, watching tv shows about it. It interests me, but that still doesn't change my mind on the matter.

I've been with 51 women,...

Only 51?   ???  You must not get out much... or you still a young buck just warmin up.  :-\  Now I remember, back in the day, no brag - just fact, when I would have thought 50 was a fair start to a couple a month's effort!   8)  But then, I never really counted... when fine lookin young wimmins are as numerous as grains of sand on a beach, and lonely since they outnumbered men 10 to 1 in Atlanta, well, lets just say I was never very good at higher mathematics!   :P

And (a bow to the thread topic) Them wimmins didn't call me Big "foot!"   ::)

SHOOTALL,

#51 is the one I married!  ;)

So, I am officially out of the dating market.  ;D

It's a funny thing. I was in a waiting room and they had one of those afternoon shows on. There was this young black couple being interviewed by a black woman.

Interviewer: " So John, how may women have you been with?"
John: "Oh, I don't think I should say."
Jane: "It's okay baby, that's before we were together. You can say."
John: "No, I'm not going to tell that."

I was thinking, Smart man! Never tell that # to your wife/GF. She will either think it's too many or too little!  :o

There are no game cam photos of God. There are no dna samples of God. People have gone all over the world, to the moon, and sent satellites to the far end of the solar system and have not found God. No one has ever proven with scientific evidence that God truly exists, yet I am supposed to blindly believe He exists and dismiss bigfoot outright? That's human logic for ya.
