Old 250 Savage ammo??
« on: February 02, 2013, 03:50:21 PM »
Can you tell the manufacture date from the number inside the box flap of rifle ammo? I have two boxes of 250 Savage ammo (87 gr. and 100 gr.)from Peters, the are rustless and made with smokeless powder, imagine that, LOL. The 87 gr flap code is U11T and the 100 gr. flap code is A15BD. Thanks for any help.

I figured it out with the help of a fellow member on another Forum, my 87 gr. ammo is just like the 30-40 Krag box which puts it between 1950 to 1962 range but the 100 gr ammo's box looks just like the 87 gr. box but it has the
"Warning Keep out of reach children" warning on the upper left front of the box which was required after 1962. Thanks richj for that link. I tried Google but for some reason didn't come up with that link.
