Our home is raised (coastal flood zome) and the lower portion is covered with 1X4 lattice. My wife saw a picture in a magazine of a box garden that used vinyl gutters mounted on the side of a deck. We have since mounted 36 feet of vinyl gutter to the south side of our home, and it is mounted high enough to discourage deer. Makes a great garden for lettuces, spinach, chard, etc. Warms up earlier than the garden soil. In the heat of summer the gutters require water every day because of increased evaporation. Ideal for a spring garden using small plants.
