Chris Dorner supporters rally in front of LAPD headquarters  Published February 17, 2013
Associated Press    LOS ANGELES –  Dozens of protesters rallied outside Los Angeles police headquarters Saturday in support of Christopher Dorner, the former LAPD officer and suspected killer of four who died after a shootout and fire this week at a mountain cabin following one of the biggest manhunts in recent memory.

Protesters told the Los Angeles Times they didn't support Dorner's deadly methods, but objected to police corruption and brutality, and believed Dorner's claims of racism and unfair treatment by the department. Many said they were angered by the conduct of the manhunt that led to Dorner's death and injuries to innocent bystanders who were mistaken for him.
Michael Nam, 30, who held a sign with a flaming tombstone and the inscription "RIP Habeas Corpus," said it was "pretty obvious" police had no intention of bringing Dorner in alive.
"They were the judge, the jury and the executioner," Nam said. "As an American citizen, you have the right to a trial and due process by law."

During the hunt for Dorner, LAPD Chief Charlie Beck called for Dorner's surrender and said he didn't want to see the suspect or anyone else injured.
Dorner was already believed to have killed three people when he was cornered Tuesday at the cabin near Big Bear Lake, and during the standoff shot and killed a San Bernardino County sheriff's deputy, authorities said.

Only after calls for surrender and use of milder tear gas did deputies launch pyrotechnic gas canisters into the cabin, and the subsequent fire was not intentional, the Sheriff's Department said.
Dorner died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound at the end of the standoff, sheriff's officials said.
The 33-year-old has already inspired a burgeoning subculture of followers. While most don't condone killing, they see him as an outlaw hero who raged against powerful forces of authority, and some even question whether he really died.

Tributes include a ballad titled "El Matapolicias," or "The Police Killer," penned by a Mexican crooner with lyrics paying homage to Dorner, and a YouTube clip showing excerpts from a video game titled "Christopher Dorner's Last Stand Survival Game" whose opening frame declares him "A True American Hero."

I'm not gonna jump on either side of this, but it sure seems the LAPD could have really done themselves a huge favor and let the other side of the story be told. If Dorner really was just a murderer, bringing him in would have been great PR. Now there's always gonna be questions about how the handled this issue as well as their overall credibility.

The back stories make no difference. No justification for crossing the line and killing innocents. All those officers and civilians had families to go home too. They were not part of his gripe, nor cared to be. The outcome was inevitable. I pray for all families involved including his.

Those throwing their support towards him are condoning his actions and their judgement is misplaced.

First of all Dorner murdered that guy's daughter and her husband in cold blood. He then went down to San Diego and tied up some 80 year old man and tried to steal his boat so he could flee to Mexico. That didn't work, So he drove up to Big Bear Mountian. On the way he murdered a Riverside police officer and wounded two ther cops. When he got to Big Bear he pulled a home invasion and tied up a couple of people and stole their  truck. Then he carjacked another at gunpoint. He then got in a gunbattle with a couple of Fish & Wildlife officers who fortunately weren't injured. Then he was chased into a cabin where he shot two San Berdnadino County Sherriff's Deputys killing one and severely wounding the other. Than situation had to end immediately and that piece of trash had to go! You can't risk the lives of anymore law enforcement officers over this animal. If he were to get loose he would have surely kill again. My prayers go out to the families of the all the people he hurt or killed. The cops on scene could have thrown another few logs on the fire and a few gallons of gas as far as I'm concerned. Good riddence!!

I agree with SM Bob.
This moron had a hit list of people that he thought did him wrong and killed a kid of one of his enemies.
Even if he was telling the truth about the LAPD wrong doings.  And his accusations came on the heels of a repramand for improper reports.
If he was wrongly terminated then there would have been lawsuits, newspaper stories, the Feds involved (They are still here after the Rodney King riots and Rampart.
What I do not get is the morons that support him and his attacking who ever he pleased.  Well if they believe in anarchy then what would stop the police from simply killing them, their parents, and their kids and Dornor was willign to do.

I say he made a decision to do what he did and he knew he would die with that decision-----God will be the judge.
It was not LAPD who tracked him down or burned him out.
Its over.

Why didnt Dorner go to the media or courts with his LAPD grievances instead of going on a killing spree?  Now he is dead and anything that he brought up about LAPD is subject to questioning as nonsensical ravings of a homocidal lunatic. A lot of good he did for his cause on that killing spree.
Hi NSA! Can you see how many fingers I am holding up?
