I like your work. Looks like a good project for sitting on a deer stand long hours, for me anyway. Do you have a set of carving knives or do you just use a couple of blades to do most of the work? Working out the bowl looks tough. ear

Tools....I rough the shape with a saw and a small G/B hatchet. Carving is done with three Flexcut tools...a cutting knife,  straight gouge,  and a bent gouge.

Smooth the bottom of the cup. Inside.....sandpaper.  Outside......files and sandpaper. I use fine toothed files on the convex side and then go to paper. Start with 80 grit and work to 220.

Nope. No power tools. No rotary disk. All done by hand.
