My big hope with this was to maintain the operability of the firearm in either .22 LR or .22 muzzle loader and it works perfectly.  If I were making a dedicated .22 muzzle loader, I'd definitely do it differently  I have ask my bro about the other and he's thinking about it.  It wouldn't be as easy to swap, since his barrel is pinned in, but he really isn't using it anyway.  We'll see.  ;)

Off topic;
What about a bolt gun and a completely removable chamber. A screw in chamber for 22, 22WMR or muzzle loader with cap nipple. Maybe even a hornet chamber. Offset for the cap nipple would be a hitch. Just clouding the water some.

Hope your BP 22 trigger works out. ear

This is a thought I've had too Blind Ear.  My main goal with this was keeping costs low and since I don't have machining equipment, this is something doable by anyone who can buy a tap and a nipple.  ;)  I spent $6 for the tap (got a good quality one) and $4 for the nipple.  The thread is fine enough it doesn't interfere with the shells chambering, so you can literally unscrew the barrel, unscrew the nipple and go back to regular .22 LR with a little cleaning.  You can do it without cleaning, but chamber gets a little cruddy from the BP.  Definitely works well enough for small game though.  ;)  Hoping to have some updated data soon, but buying a new house and moving, so will probably be later towards Fall.  8)

You have a very good idea and it interests me also. I don't have a 22 with a barrel readily accessible to the chamber area. More power with 22bp than I had imagined. Good luck with the move and new home. I had rather take a beating than have to move. Back can't take it anymore. ear
