Hey guys, Steve just wrote me an e-mail asking for me to send in my receiver for the trigger job because my Shilen custom barrel just got sent out for cryo treatment. It ought not be too much longer, and I ought to be getting a knock on the door from the man in the little brown truck.

Specs are 7 Mag Stainless 27 inches, hand lapped, fluted, on/off muzzlebrake, with the free floated hanger bar and Warn mounts.

Steve said that he would guarantee that it would shoot 1 inch groups at 100 yards. I told him I just want it to kill a deer. :lol:

From my past dealings with Steve and the guys at VVCG I bet it beats that "under 1 inch" by quite a bit. They do excellent work and a Shilen barrel kinda spoils you from any production barrel. My 6mm 30-30AI VV barrel will group bullets in one nice hole with ease. They are building me another one soon.

Steve would not guarantee my 28" .50 Douglas 209x50 barrel would get
MOA, but it will.

Steve guaranteed my Tactical 20 barrel would get MOA, which is
laughable -- sort of like Volvo guaranteeing 10,000 miles on their
engine. On a bad day it gets 3/8" groups. The best was 1/8" -- any
better than that is more than I personally could ever do.

Thanks guys, I'm sure it's gonna be sweet. Steve answered a ton of questions for me, and gave me great personal service. If I end up happy with the 7 Mag barrel, I think I'm gonna send him my .50 muzzleloader barrel and let him trick it out too.
