Just picked up one of these shotguns.  18 inch barrel.  5+1 capacity.
Gun is used but not abused.  It's primary use will be for home protection.
Anyone out there own one of these?
What are your thoughts and opinion on this particular shotgun?
Are there any particular likes and dislikes for ammo or any quirks that are part of the design?

thanks,
lc

Don't know enough about them to know their particular quirks.

They were an economy grade pump marketed under Savage, Stevens, Springfield names using several different model numbers (77, 67, 30, 87?) and letter suffixes (D, C,E, etc).  They sold a good number of them and most parts are available from places like Numrich Arms and others.

When I was younger I had a Savage branded  12 gauge for a few years and never had any trouble with it.  I currently have a Stevens branded .410.  Owned it for about 14 years and have had no trouble with it - though I admit I only average shooting about 1 box of shells per year thru it.
