Sent my Range Officers slide in

Just sent my Range Officer slide to Springfield Custom for a new front sight.  My eyes just can't pick up the front sight in a black on black situation. I called first , thinking I wanted a tritium dot.  Talked to some very knowledgable people , they suggested a fiber optic front.  The longer I talked the more it made sense to me.  So , off it went... I do use a fiber optic on my GP-100 ... green ... and it does show up.  Anybody else have one on a 1911 ?  Hope I didn't make a mistake.

no mistake. wise choice. I have a green fiber optic on my 686+. It is the front sight of choice by Jerry Miculek. He likes it. I like it too.

You could just ask for the front sight Rob Leatham uses. He shoots for Springfield and uses fiber optics on his limited division pistols.

I have some Dawson's on an STI---the are good.

shot my para 1911 with a green fiber optic on the front for years in ipsc/uspsa. modified a bomar on the rear to look like bunny ears. that green was easy for me to pick up versus the red a lot of friends used.

Dawson once carried a front sight he called TGO. It was the sight Leatham used until Springfield started installing them. Them may even be using Dawsons' sights.
