Well I'm not too sure exactly what I have. A number of years ago I bought a HB .223, had a lam stock with a clear finish and the wood was completely natural. Ugly! I brought it home, stripped the finish, applied walnut stain mixed with alcohol to carry it into the wood, then finished it with 10 coats of Tru-Oil rubbed on a wee little bit at a time, buffed with 4/0 steel wool between coats. Made the grain and the lam lines just jump out. Wish I had a pic to show. GW
