Both of these guns seem to be civil 9pdrs 8ft long of unknown but probably British manufacture produced in the late 18th or early 19th centuries.
This type of gun was produced in large numbers, often to arm merchant ships for protection against pirates and privateers well into the 19th Century.
These two guns were obtained from a site in Southwark which was being developed in 1986.
These are mounted on concrete carriages due to being outside of the Fort entrance.
