"Mustang" version of the Topper...?
« on: March 21, 2013, 12:55:53 PM »
Had one a half dozen years ago....I remember a gold trigger and a darker than normal [blued?] receiver. Thin barrel in 30/30 Win. Sold it because of something else I wanted but I realized there must not have been too many made?...or were there? Calibers offered?

The H&R Inc  Mustang model 163 was offered only in 30-30 in 1965-66, gold plated trigger, it isn't listed as a Topper model in the BBGV. They also made a model 459 Golden Squire Jr  .410 and 20ga with the gold trigger and hammer in 1964. FWIW I have a couple modern H&Rs with the gold hammers installed, looks nice with a brass trigger guard and spacer.  :D
