Just got a Springfield compact v-10 and have questions.
« on: February 27, 2005, 03:14:37 PM »
Well I just picked up (layed away but will have by end of next week) a Springfield Armory Ultra compact V-10 in 45 ACP.

This gun will be for daytime carry and fireworks display with the 10 hole comp.

My questions are:

1.  The front sight is the "staked on" type and it is loose.  Is there anything I can do to fix or must it be tightend by gunsmith?  Can it be retightend?

2.   With the extreme porting of this gun, I assume that it will need full house loads to cycle properly...is this true and would it be better with 185 gr over 230?  Obviously lead bullets are to be avoided with the comp.

3.  Does anybody have experience with this gun bad or good to share.

Thanks,

Fred
