Range Report 357 maxi (new)
« on: March 25, 2013, 02:03:35 PM »
Well I couldn't go on without a H&R Maxi, the contender just wasn't enough.  Sent a receiver in awhile back and got a new barrel, reamed her to max and here are the first results.

Didn't start out with the 180ssp's, thought I would break her in with some other types.  Had some 180 gr silhouette bullets.  Not bad for the first round.  It looks like I should have brought it all the way up to max, cause the group seems to be coming together.

Cool, I finally got on the list for the reamer myself.  Mine is only a 16.25" barrel, but I think it'll be a mighty handi deer rifle.  ;)

Looks good rev, I keep cranking my max loads up and getting better and better results as I go. Had a bunch of the ssp's left over from my .35  rem works so I've been loading that and some 170 sierra hp's. I couldn't resist and loaded some 158's this time to see how wicked those can be on some milk jugs. a.k.a. hillbilly ballistic testing.  ;D
I hate when i miss. But when I do, I can always come up with a reason why.

Pete,

I was in the fold.........but I backslid and sold my maxi barrel and bought a contender barrel (sacrilege).  However, I have truly repented and made restitution by purchasing another 357 barrel.

YRU,

I do have a Ranch Dog mold, just haven't got to them yet ;)
