You were right, I was wrong. Finally caught some good weather and shot 5744 and the 210 cast over the chrony. 17 grains gave about 1500 fps.

This was from a new can and from current loading data. I had been using a jug of the original surplus 5744 and the older much hotter data and getting well over 1800 fps in summer weather.

For now, it looks like the H 110/WW 296 and WC-680/AA 1680 are the way to go.

Not a problem DJ. It strikes me that you and I have had a very gentlemanly relationship on these boards, agreeing, disgreeing, but never being disagreeable. What a God Send.  I've never seen either of us claim to know all, and whenever the evidence has shown us to be in error, rather than being ridiculous trying to defend our wrong by throwing other stones, we just simply stand up to the plate and say "guys I goofed"

Now the funny part, I had decided to try to 5744 full loads and clock them, just to see what is going on....when you said the data was from 10 1?2" barrels I bit my lip, said to myself "he is exactly right and we are dealing with barrel twice that length and I need to stop pontificating on how much I think I know....."  So I'll do some more shooting with this powder too, and see what I get. Without question, how fast a powder drives a bullet is far less meaningful to me than friendship which allows people to freely express theirshts, right or wrong, and go on about the business of having fun and enjoying the friendship.
