I dont own one but did shoot a friends 9mm this past monday. I loved it.  Xd's have always been natural pointers and good shooters for me anyways, but the M was amazing!  Round after round into about a 3" hole at 25yards!  If you got the coin go for it.  And 9mm for shooting on the cheap.

Don't have it yet but have purchased one from Bud's. It will likely ship early next week after my check clears. I bought the XDM 5.25 in .45acp. I have a thread about it on the Handgun General Discussion forum here with several comments from folks who have them.

Local shop wanted $1000 for the same gun I have coming. Bud's price to VIP members was $679 shipped. I think the shorter ones are less as are the XDs compared to the XDMs.

My son is a Certfied Executive Bodyguard with extensive training and he carries both an XD .45 and an XD Compact 9mm. In training he put both through heck and without a single misfeed of any kind. He fired 2,000 rounds through the 9mm in just two days without cleaning and it performed flawlessly. The man who trained him is the very guy that invented the SWAT Team and who still trains Swat, FBI, Secret Service and military security. He, as does my son,  trusts his life to an XD. You'll not find a better more reliable firearm at any price!

I have sold two or three. Love the duotone compacts. Sold the new XDS .single stack .45 ACP pistol pack. Sweet handgun. It didn't last long in shop.

I have had the XDM 9 for about a year and a half and i'm a big fan. The major factor for buying it was the comfort of the grip but now that i have gotten into reloading i shoot cast boolits out of it for cheap plinking/ practice rounds.

I have the duotone XDm 40 and it is an awesome handgun. Springfield set you up with a nice kit also. Great trigger, very accurate, comforatable, easy to break down, etc.

Just got another XDS SA in single stack .45 ACP. Read this months Shooting Times. Old Bart Skelton says it's probably the BEST compact .45 ACP EVER PRODUCED! That's pretty high praise.

But I got to tell you, these suckers SHOOT and are a pleasure to carry.

I have a XDM 4.5 .45 and a XDM 5.25 in 9mm.Both have been flawless is reliability,very accurate,decent trigger.The 45 has to be the softest shooting 45acp I own,and exceptionally accurate with either 230 hardball or LRN.
The 5.25 has been fun and a lot cheaper to shoot compared to 45 acp.20 bullets total is a lot of rounds.
I just shot a XDs in 45acp and was very impressed.Very accurate and slim, may have to buy one and retire the Colt LWOC.
