A balmy 73F here in Houston.  Glad spring  summer is here.  I've always preferred warmer weather.  Happy Easter to ya all, if that is appropriate.

Dang you Pete! It is way too early to be talking about spring... we still have four feet of snow and they are calling for more tomorrow... We are gearing up for shooting and turkey season, but I'm gonna wait another couple weeks before I think too much about it.

I would love to be in the UP right now, spent every childhood summer of my life up there. The feeling you get just driving across the Mackinaw bridge make you feel like your going back in time.

Wow that's not good, we had a pretty bad winter don't know any stats on deer loss though. The biggest problems that I see in my area is the coyotes, I can't seem to call them in and can't get em in traps either, but then again I am new at predator hunting,
. I have so many around my house that the other night at 11 my wife had me shoot out the bedroom window to shut them up... ;D

Very nice spring day here! Tomorrow forcast near zero over night and lo 30 for a high. But back to 50 by later in the week. That's New England. If you don't like the weather, just wait a minute. It's gonna change.

We are in the middle of a few days of nice weather here in NW Oregon.  It was in the high 60's on Friday when I took my grandkids shooting, and it nudged 70 over the weekend.  It's supposed to rain again by the middle of the week or I would be taking the .45-70 out again to dial in the sights.

Hoyt's in or around Sudbury, Ontario.  He's right off the east end of Lake Superior....much like Buffalo, NY is to Lake Erie.  A LOT of snow.  We've got what he has today.   Goodbye Spring for a bit.  We had two inches in less than an hour this morning, and probably 5 inches in a forecast that was supposed to be about an inch.  As I write this, it's not, at least I think it's not snowing.  It is blowing like a bi--ch from the NW and snow is flying everywhere.  No, not Spring yet.

This nice whether is coming at a most inopportune time with the wife recovering from surgery and having to stay close to home, but I ain't complainin a bit, her doc says she doesn't need radiation or chemo, so I'm tickled pink to stay home and take care of her even if I have to do her yard work while she's recovering!!  ;)

Tim, that's really wonderful about her recovery.  After you called the other evening, Patty and I were talking about it and how blessed you guys are.  It sure is good news.

If I've gotta do it for penance, I'll head right on out there ta help ya wid da yard work.  Tim, enjoy it.  Be glad you can do it for her and she can appreciate your efforts.  Taking a page from Andy's book....give her a hug and cherish the minute.

  That's cause you are going back in time. Also, real sad to hear of boarder crossing problems. When wife and I went to Mackinac for  honey moon ( We were broke) we decided to cross and stay a few nights. Coming back they searched our car, and made us get out, asked us questions. We said we were on our honeymoon and took the train up around WAWA. They most likely suspected drugs. I might never go back to Canada. It seems a bit easier on the west side of Lake Superior though.

Yep... that's my stompin' ground... Sudbury, north to Chapleau, Timmins and further north all the way to Manitouwadge, Nipigon and north of Nakina... also have canoed the rivers dumping into James/Hudson Bay... beautiful country... everyone want s to live here in September and October... not so much January or February (Brrrrr...) or May and June (BUG SEASON!)... but when it is good, it is very good.
